Attending knitting lessons will allow you to meet other people that share a similar desire to improve their ability, and will provide you with an expert tutor ready to carefully instruct you in the different stitches and where and when to use them.

Knitting courses may not be as common as they once were; however due to a recent comeback of knitted goods in the fashion world now is a great time to look for a local opportunity. The practical uses of knitting

Perhaps you aren’t convinced that learning to knit is a worthwhile hobby, even with the many different learning opportunities on offer. If that is the case, why not consider some of the practical uses that knitting can bring to the table?

• A knitted item of clothing makes a great present, be it a scarf for an adult or a cardigan for a newborn baby. Your friends and family will appreciate your effort all the more because it was homemade.


• With a little practice and tuition you could start to make some clothes for yourself. As wool can be sourced relatively cheaply online or on the high street, you may find that this is an effective and entertaining way to create fashionable and attractive clothing for an affordable price.


• If you start to enjoy knitting a lot you could even consider setting up a business. You could start to sell some of your wares to local residents, or perhaps even pass on your newfound skills by starting your own knitting lessons.
